Good replacement

Worked out fine. No luck trying to tuck in extra length it just worked out better cutting so there was about an inch extra on both ends for future shrinkage. Needed to adjust door operation for new bottom which is thicker while new.

Good product. Appreciated the help I received in ordering the right size

I wasn’t sure what size to order, so someone answered my questions via email and suggested I order the sample pack. I appreciate that they send additional length to allow for securing each end. Other than the difficulty of sliding it across 17ft of track, installation was simple. My garage door tech said not to use WD-40 to help it slide because it will break down the seal. He suggested to use Windex.

A: You choose the length you need from the drop down menu. You can get the seal from 8' in length up to 40' in length.

Q: Is the rubber in 3 & 4 inch 1/4 & 5/16 inch T epdm? Also, I bought your sample pack, both 1/4 & 5/16 T seem to fit well enough, albeit 5/16 is more snug. Which would be the better option?

A: Yes, they are EPDM synthetic rubber material.

Pull down on the samples when they are in the astragal retainer to see if they pull out. If you think that you can slide the 5/16" seal the whole way across the astragal retainer without too much struggle then we would recommend the one that has a tighter fit.

Some door manufacturer's use a 1/4" T-style seal but their astragal retainers are roomy enough to also accommodate some 5/16" T-style seals. The seal that won't pull out but has the tightest fit (without struggling to install it) is going to be the best bet.

Q: I’m not sure what to choose when given the option of bottom seal length option, or 10 feet. I need 24 feet of the 4” black heavy duty 5/16 t-end garage door seal. Thanks for your help!

A: Unfortunately, this seal has been unavailable from the manufacturer since mid July (2026). We have not been able to get a clear ETA of when this seal may be (if ever) available again. The 10' piece available on the website is what we have remaining in stock.
