Cables
Extension and Torsion Spring Cables
When the cables break on the garage door it can be frustrating. Without the door cables the garage door isn't going to move. It's important that the garage door cables are checked regularly for cuts or fraying and it's always best (and easier) to replace them before they break. It is also important to note that replacing the cables can be dangerous if you're not sure what you are doing so please be careful and don't be afraid to call a professional to do the work.
We carry cables for extension spring garage doors and torsion spring garage doors. The extension spring garage door cables are available for 7' high and 8' high garage doors and are a heavier 7x19 strand wire opposed to a 7x7 strand wire. We also have the extension spring safety cables. The safety cables go through the center of the extension springs. The ends of safety cables are anchored so if the extension springs were to break they would not fly around the garage damaging a car or injuring someone. The torsion spring garage door cables are available for 7', 8', 10' and 12' high normal headroom garage doors and are also the heavier 7x19 strand wire.
