The L992U is Liftmaster's current 2-button universal remote. It works with most major garage door opener brands manufactured after 1993 that use photoelectric safety sensors. Each button is programmed on its own, so one remote can run two different openers, gates, commercial operators, or external receivers — including two different brands.
This remote replaces the discontinued 380UT and 374UT universal remotes. Setup is done at the opener Learn / program button. On compatible Liftmaster, Chamberlain, and Craftsman Wi-Fi / myQ openers with a yellow or white Learn Button, you can also set it up in the myQ app. A visor clip and CR2032 battery are included. The case has a keyring loop; the keyring is not included.
Range is up to 1,300 ft. in open conditions. The remote is not compatible with older dip-switch receivers.
The L992U Universal Remote is compatible with most garage door openers from the following brands:
Compatible Learn Button Colors:
Compatible Liftmaster / Raynor external radio receivers:
Matching Raynor-labeled versions of the Liftmaster receivers above use the same radio and are compatible. This remote is not for older dip-switch-only receivers.
Note: The opener must have photoelectric safety sensors. This remote is not compatible with older dip-switch style systems. The manual also lists Liftmaster, Chamberlain, Craftsman, and Raynor from 1993–current, Genie and Overhead Door from 1995–current, Linear from 1997–current, plus Performax, Xtreme Garage, and similar later brands. Guardian, Do-It, Garage Master, Master Mechanic, Moore-O-Matic, and True Value branded openers that use a program button are also compatible.
