Q: how do you change the batteries in the wireless keypad? the screw looks like it needs a special tool to lossen it.

Asked by: Linda Lamb - 11/14/2019
A: Pull the slide up cover all the up until it comes off. You'll feel a little resistance but it will come off. Look at the top of the keypad above the numbers and you'll see a screw that was covered by the slide up cover. Remove that screw and you'll be able to remove the keypad from the base. Look on the back of the keypad and you'll see the batteries under the rubber cover.

Q: I just moved into a home and dont have the garage code. the previous owner does not know it as well. How can i reset it?

Asked by: Jaron - 11/27/2019
A: Just use your remote and follow the directions to program the keypad with whatever PIN number you want. If you find that you're having trouble with the keypad recognizing your remote put a fresh battery in the remote as it needs to have a strong signal to communicate with the keypad.

Answer provided by: Administrator (2/5/2020)

Q: We have a Marantec garage door opener re-branded as Price's Garage Doors opener (PG-4500). The Marantec label list 5 models: (2) that are 2 Amp models and (3) that are 3-Amp models. 2-Amp: M-4500 and Q-7500. The 3-Amp models listed are M-4700, Q-7700, and Q-7900. Purchased/installed in 2006. I assume teh PG-4500 is the re-branded M-4500 Marantec opener. We need to replace the remote keypad and purchased a universal remote that doesn't list the Marantec models. Can you confirm that the remote keypad that we need is the M13-631. It appears that the M13-631 is a replacement model for the one we have which looks like the M3-631. Can we use the universal remote (Chamberlain model KLIK2U-P2) which needs an ID number of the opener [like "4" for Liftmaster] and then requires me to push a "Learn" button on the opener, which the Marantec doesn't appear to have.

Asked by: skjudd - 3/11/2020
A: The Chamberlain keypad is not compatible with Marantec.
The way to determine if the M13-631 Keypad is compatible with your opener you need to confirm that the radio receiver in the opener is 315MHz frequency (Marantec has used 4 different frequencies over the years). Look on the back of your Marantec remote - if it has 315MHz printed on it then it's compatible. If you can't read it off of your remote then look on the radio receiver where it will also be printed.

Asked by: Geri - 3/20/2020
A: There is a base that the keypad connects to and then there's the keypad itself.

Base = 2-3/4"w x 4-7/16"h
Keypad = 3-1/8"w x 4-1/2"h

Asked by: Dennis - 3/24/2020
A: I'm assuming you have a model M3-2312 remote (which should also be printed on the back of the remote). If that's the case then yes the M13-631 Keyless Entry is the newest compatible model.

Q: Does this item come with the chip that you plug in the side to plug into the other remote to program?

Asked by: Clif - 5/15/2020
A: No. This M13-631 Keypad doesn't need the Program Jumper. The previous model (M3-631) used a Program Jumper but with this newer model you just use a remote that is already programmed to the opener to transfer the code from the remote to the keypad by pressing the remote button (no program jumper needed).

Q: Do you need to use the 3 prong pin to program this? And if so does it come with one?

Asked by: Tom Oswald - 5/27/2020
A: No you don't need one. Unlike the previous model you don't need to use a programming jumper. To program this keypad you will use a remote that is programmed to the garage door opener. You'll use the remote during the programming process by pressing the remote button to transfer the code from the remote to the keypad without using a 3-prong programming jumper.

Q: will this keypad work on an M-line series opener?

Asked by: Steve Smith - 11/27/2020
A: Maybe. The older M-Line models could use 4 different radio receiver frequencies. Your Marantec operator has to have a 315MHz radio receiver for the keypad to work. Look on the back of your Marantec remote - if it's a model M3-2312 or 382 Digital remote and has 315MHz printed on the back of it then the M13-631 Keypad will be compatible.

Q: Can I use my old garage door opener if I get the keyless entry?

You'll use that remote to program the M13-631 Keypad. We recommend you put a fresh battery in the remote before using it to program the keypad since the keypad needs to receive a strong signal from the remote.

Q: I have an old Marantec wireless keypad that fell from the holder and the plastic pretty much disintegrated when it hit the ground. I guess that's what happens from about 15 years of getting brittle in the sun. The model is M3-631. I see on your website that it is discontinued, and you now have the M13-631. I just wanted to confirm that this new version is going to work with my opener. Please let me know. Thank you Jordan

Asked by: Jordan - 7/25/2021
A: Yes the M13-631 Keypad is the newest Marantec keypad version and replaces the old discontinued M3-631 keypad. If the M3-631 keypad worked with your operator then the new M13-631 will also be compatible with your operator.
