How to replace batteries in Marantec m13-631 keypad
All it takes is a few simple steps to replace the batteries in the Marantec M13-631 wireless garage door opener keypad.
One of the most asked questions when it comes to the Marantec M13-631 wireless keypad is - "How do I change the batteries?". Unfortunately the Marantec instructions don't necessarily address this question so we'll go through a few simple steps so you can install fresh batteries in the M13-631 Marantec keypad.
First thing you want to do is grab the cover and slide it all the way to the top. You'll feel some resistance from the stops. Keep pulling up on the cover until it comes off completely. This will reveal the screw (circled in orange in the 3rd pic above) that holds the keypad to base.
Use a small screwdriver to remove the screw. You can now remove the keypad from the mounting base.
Turn the keypad over and you'll see a rubber cover over the battery compartment. Pull the rubber cover off and you will see the batteries. Remove the old batteries and install two new AAA batteries.
That's all there is to it. Put the rubber cover back over the batteries and test the keypad by entering your PIN number. If the door open/closes then you can place the keypad back onto the mounting plate, reinstall the screw and reinstall the slide up cover.
If the lights on the keypad do not come on then you may have installed the batteries improperly. Double check the batteries are installed properly. If the lights come on but the PIN number doesn't work then you may need to reprogram the keypad.
Hopefully these instructions have been helpful. If you have any questions don't hesitate to email us at [email protected].

How do you remove the tiny screw to replace batteries when it has been in for years and appears to be stuck.

You may want to try spraying a little WD-40 or other lubricant on it and letting it soak in for 5-10 minutes and see if that loosens it up.
